What we do

The Saturn Cub Pack at the Silver Leys always has a full programme of events. Ask a Cub Scout what they enjoy best  about Cub Scouting and most are likely to say being on a camp. In recent times we've been to Skeens Park, Lees Wood and Belchamps where they've enjoyed the outdoor activities and experienced scouting skills. The Cubs also visit local places such as the Fire Station where they have great fun and to places of interest such as United Reformed Church where they learn all about local knowledge. We also enter many competitions and tournaments where we get to meet other Scout Cubs from our own District.

Leader (Akela):   Gary Newberry
Asst. Leader   :   Pete Kent

About Cub Scouts

The Cub Scouts are girls and boys aged between 8 and 10½ years. It is about having fun, making friends, enjoying lots of activities, keeping the Promise and trying new things. They wear a dark green sweat shirt and a Group Scarf. They make up the largest section in the Scout Movement.  Cub Scouts are  given the opportunity to  gain Awards and badges in recognition of their efforts in  participating in a Balanced Programme of activities.

 Parents

The Scout Group will always welcome the help of parents/guardians. There are many ways in which you can give a helping hand. You could get involved in assisting the leaders during an evening meeting, or perhaps help in a fund raising event or even provide a much needed extra pair of hands at a camp. You may also have a particular skill, hobby or knowledge which could be shared with the Pack at a meeting. Please consider these possibilities and see Gary Newberry (Akela) for information.
